Brownie queen

Sharon made her mint brownies plus 3 more kinds yesterday. They are all delicious! She sells them for $5 a dozen. Lucky for me, she keeps the ones that didn't get cut right in the freezer and I've got a nice stock of delicious brownies on hand.

Sharon insisted we bring the camera on the last day we all went swimming at the community pool. Not something I would have put forth the effort to do, but I'm glad we have the video now. Thanks honey

sharon offered to baby sit someone in the ward's kids tonight for 2 hours. that was nice of her! Especially with what happened afterwards... inside joke :-)

we are transitioning around here with Enoch doing preschool all day. It's an adjustment for all of us, even me, since it changes both the morning, afternoon, and evening routines. Sharon brought her camera into school today and took some photos of Enoch. It was the last day parents were allowed to escort their kids inside. she got a great kodak moment!

First day of school

Sharon was running around town all day today. Enoch started preschool today, which means he needs to be dropped off and picked up every day. That sounds so tedious to me that I don't think I could do it... but Sharon is excited for Enoch to have the chance to go to school and she does it willingly. At least she did it today... :-)

Culture

Sharon's family gave us a dress up Chinese outfit for the boys a while back. It's fun to see them wear it. They look handsome and I like to see Sharon's traditional culture in them.

Welcoming party

Sometimes I drive home to see the kids playing with Sharon in the baby pool in the front yard. It's a fun welcoming party. Peter was naked today... got some fun pictures. I appreciate her effort to get them outside and having fun.

Meet the teachers day

Today Sharon went to a meet the teachers day at Enoch's new preschool. She's done pretty much all the work to get Enoch's preschool stuff set up, and I'm grateful for all that she does.

donuts

Today Sharon brought me home donuts to eat tomorrow morning for breakfast. It's always a treat to come home to little surprises like that.

dinner and a clean house

Sharon was in a good mood today. When I got home, the entire house was clean and she had made wings and tofu and rice. She definitely doesn't always do this... nor do I expect it... but it was a treat today!

My back hurts

For the past couple of days, by back has been very uncomfortable. Probably a combination of not being used to IR and working hard to get ready for Michael's birthday party. She has been very supportive and tries hard to not let me strain my back. I can tell she loves me!

The best water balloon filler upper around

Sharon filled about 250 water balloons today in less than an hour and a half. Now that is talent. And she didn't even complain or sore hands. And she is good at throwing balloons at poor little kids.

An amazing cake!

Look at this amazing car cake that Sharon made for Michael's party tomorrow! I am very impressed. It was an ambitious project and she succeeded wonderfully!

Gotten home relatively late a few nights this week, and I really appreciate what a great attitude Sharon has about handling the kids by herself all day, even at night.

Birthday

today is Michael's birthday. Sharon is planning a party on Saturday. It's car-themed. She made a fun racetrack game that I was impressed with.

amazing meal

today sharon made the most amazing meal. ribs, mashed potatoes, gravy, grean beans, fruit... on a Monday! She was proud of herself because she used the crock pot for most of it and said it was easy. Also it didn't taste like the blandness of many crock pot dishes. Thanks for the yummy meal sharon!

Patience

Peter wants to do everything his brothers do. All. Day. Long. Thought this picture from the beach exemplified this. It's impossible to have patience all the time, but Sharon certainly has a lot of it to be a mommy to our boys.

on the phone

Yesterday, driving home from the beach at night, I was really impressed with how Sharon handled herself in the phone. It was a potentially awkward subject and she did it really smoothly. I think it's great she can do this even in her second language.

11-4:30

Sharon spent over 5 hours at the children's museum with the kids today. That's a long time!

Karate

Sharon bought a groupon for Enoch to do 11 karate sessions. I was skeptic at first, but when I saw Enoch at his first session today, nervous and shy at first and eventually smiling as he practiced punching into the air, I knew it was a great thing for Enoch. Thanks Sharon!

Problem solving

Michael is quite the enemy of Peter taking naps. When they are in the same room together he manages to make sure no one sleeps. All the boys like being together at night, though, and we don't want to put one of them in the 3rd room. Sharon put an old mattress we had on the ground and that's now where Michael naps. It's been working great.

water bed

Today sharon ironed together some plastic sheets that I brought home from the hospital. Surgery packs always have sterile plastic covers that we rarely use, so I often bring them home. She turned the sheets into a water bed for the kids to play with during Michael's birthday party coming up. We tested it out today and it was fun!

work all night

The other day I met with one of my mentors for a paper we are writing together, which allowed me to start moving forward to get the paper finalized for publication. Sharon asked me if I was going to work all night on it. The funny thing is that she literally meant all night. When she has a goal to accomplish, she gets it done! I'm a bit more of a slow and steady type of guy, but I admire her drive.
