Another awesome photo

Sharon took this at the beach yesterday. She was teaching me about spot metering. She's getting really good!

Boogie boarding

Watched Sharon boogie board today and it was awesome. She was having so much fun and doing a great job for having such limited experience. She was so thrilled with each wave. Haven't downloaded todays pics bit thought this one she took earlier was hilarious.

Preschool

Going through forms now with Sharon to apply for a preschool next year for Enoch. I'm not really thrilled about it. I love the idea of Sharon getting a break, but I'm sad its an all day 5 day a week program. I want Enoch to have as much freedom as possible! I know he will probably love it though. Most of all, Sharon thinks it will be good for him. That's why she's doing this, for Enoch's benefit, not for her to get a break. Whereas I go with the approach that it doesn't really matter if he goes or doesn't go, Sharon's love and concern for him is a good thing!

Trying new things

I love Sharon's willingness to try new things. Too tired to elaborate right now, but this is one of her strengths.

College class

Found some classy pictures of Sharon when she was in college. I call it college class.

Let me talk for two minutes

Yesterday Sharon got into a long argument with our landlord. He is a stubborn, cheap man that lacks communication skills. When he kept interrupting her over and over again she got him to look at his watch and promise to let her talk for two minutes uninterrupted. He was probably not listening, but he did finally let her talk. Our landlord is from Taiwan and it was fun to hear Sharon alternate from Chinese back and forth to English, desperately trying to get her point across. Nobody is going to trample over her without a fight!

The soft spot

The kids go to bed at eight. That's the goal of when they should be in bed. Sometimes we get behind and it's eight and they're not even ready for bed. When that happens I usually just tell them that because it's so late we are foregoing reading books / watching bible stories. I think the kids have figured out, however, that if they beg Sharon to read a book then she will do it. She's got a soft spot for them, even when she's exhausted, and I love that.

Pretty sweaty

Stumbled upon this old picture today. Even though we were hot and sweaty, Sharon is still beautiful in this picture. It's what I call pretty sweaty.

Such a sweetie

Can't look at this picture but think what a sweet wife I have. This picture was taken 5 years ago! Time has flown by.

Don't mess with my wife

When the insurance company told Sharon they were totaling our car today, she demanded they pay more money for the car seats and recent repairs we did on it. I love that nobody bosses her around and that she can stand up for herself.

Teach Kids Chinese

Sharon made a new practice sheet for her blog today during lunch. I'm really impressed! She's really got a nice format down and the Simpson's idea was cute. It's a great thing because there's nothing out there on the internet like it. These kinds of kid-friendly ways to learn characters just don't seem to exist. I think it's because China isn't very big on the internet and stuff that comes out of China often lacks creativity anyway.

My lunchbox

Sharon is making me a sandwich right now to take to school tomorrow. Thank you sweetie! I'm going to bed now, sorry I can't hang out with you more tonight.

Benefit of the doubt

Had the elders over for dinner today. One of them is sort of special. He is here on a mini mission. Sharon gave him the benefit of the doubt and treated him totally normal. I, on the other hand, probably acted a bit condescending. At least I was having those kinds of thoughts. Sharon is a genuinely nice person!

Looks like you

It's not a good picture, but I love how I can see Sharon in Peter's face. Beautiful women make beautiful babies!

I won't let you get away with this

Sharon found out today that our van was in an accident before we bought it and the bumper was poorly repaired. The people we bought it from were Mormons and seemed honest so we took their word that the car was accident free when we bought it. When Sharon found out today, she dug up the number of the original owners and gave them a call.

I wish I could have heard that phone call. Sharon is very bold and I admire her for always standing up for herself.

Deals with it

Today Sharon took our minivan to our mechanic to get it fixed after somebody hit her yesterday. She ended up driving home a rental van that the other driver's insurance provided. I am so glad and grateful that she was able to deal with the whole mess. She pulls more than her own weight and is a super mom!

Keep your cool

Sharon got in an accident today when a car hit her. I missed her phone call and got a calm text asking where the insurance card was. When I saw her after work, she acted totally normal. Didn't seem stressed at all. Impressed by her cool!

Someone to talk to

Had a nice conversation with Sharon about some difficult things that are going on. It means a lot to me that we can have honest, sincere conversations with each other. She is a great wife.

Sharon read through another draft of a paper I wrote today and found several grammar errors. Pretty good for an ESLer!

How do you go shopping with three little boys?

Went shopping with Sharon today. Haven't done that in a while. We loaded up the cart almost to the brim. Michael was in the seat, Enoch was standing on the end of it, and all together I was probably pushing well over 100 pounds with that cart. Difficult, but I realized it would have been near impossible if I also had to deal with Peter. Sharon had him in the stroller. Shopping was difficult with both of us there, and it's near impossible when it's one parent with all 3 boys. Sharon does that a lot, and the fact that she can get much accomplished at all with all three of them proves she's a super mom.

Read me a story

Sharon's been reading an article to me for the past 20 minutes. Thanks for your love and romance and friendship!

Teach kids Chinese

Sharon has been very hard at work with a new blog.

http://teachkidschinese.blogspot.com/

I'm very impressed by how professional her first set of practice sheets are. I'm proud of her! Our kids will definitely benefit from this, and it looks like other kids are going to as well. She's such a hard worker when she makes a goal and gets excited about something, I only hope she doesn't burn herself out. I admire her tenacity and the ability to work towards achieving something beautiful!

Pay off time

Pictures like this are an example of hard work paying off. Sharon provided Enoch with lots of material to practice his letters with, and he's gotten quite good. I should remember now and not forget that all the accomplishments Enoch or the other kids achieve are built on the foundation of Sharon's love, encouragement, and hard work.

Gymnastics

Sharon got a groupon for Enoch to do gymnastics. Something like 10 or 12 hour long classes for $60. A good deal for sure. Nonetheless, I doubt I would have pulled the trigger and hooked up Enoch with the class. Sometimes I'm too much of a Scrooge. I'm glad Enoch's doing it and glad for Sharon for setting it up.
