Ice skating

Sharon and I went ice skating today. It was a fun date. Kinda sad that it was our first time skating together! After 6 years you would think I would have taken her out... but I was handicapped by all the babies. We had a great time and it was wonderful being out on a date together. 2 dates in 2 weeks... feels good to go on more dates with my amazing wife. Love you

glad we picked each other

I wonder how many people get married when they're 22 after only dating for 8 months and are still happy they married that person 5+ years later. I feel fortunate that I'm one of the lucky ones with no marriage remorse. I picked a good one.

That statue is actually pretty amazing. 2000 years old! We went to the museum of fine arts on a date and it was a lot of fun to do something like that without the kids. We really needed that. Some other fun photos

World's greatest dad

Had a great time watching this movie with Sharon today. I say this a lot but it can't be overstated how great it is to do just do simple things like watch a good movie with someone you love. It makes everything better.

forev

Sharon and I watched the movie Forev tonight. A bit of language at times, but we both thought it was funny and enjoyed watching it together. I need to be a better husband and watch more romantic comedies with Sharon... it's a recipe for goodness it seems, even if it is tortuous to pick one out. They always seem so dumb in the description but usually end up enjoyable. I probably secretly liked those movies when I was single... but I will credit Sharon for helping me come out of the closet about them.

Today Sharon brought me home donuts to eat tomorrow morning for breakfast. It's always a treat to come home to little surprises like that.

My back hurts

For the past couple of days, by back has been very uncomfortable. Probably a combination of not being used to IR and working hard to get ready for Michael's birthday party. She has been very supportive and tries hard to not let me strain my back. I can tell she loves me!

The best part of your day

Sharon and I started a thing where we always ask each other what the best part of your day was. In the past we always mention the good things that happened during the day, but somehow it's been kind of special to pick one thing out to share with each other that really made us happy. I think this will be a tradition that continues!

swiimming

Enoch has swim lessons this week and Sharon also takes Peter and Michael swimming too. That's a lot of work... Thank you!

Packing

Packing up with Sharon to go to an RV camping trip to the Bolivar Peninsula. We've both got lists of things to do and bring to make the trip fun and smooth for the family. It's a very satisfying part of marriage to work together to make something fun happen.

Talking through the night

I unexpectedly got Saturday off and Sharon and I stayed up late talking about stuff past midnight. It's so nice to have someone to share your heart with.

Don't use the bathroom

Yesterday I got home after working all night. I'd been at the hospital around 20 hours. More than I'm used to... but residency will only be a lot worse. I stayed up a few hours with Sharon and the kids and then I fell asleep on the bed at 5. Woke up at 11 and then slept again until morning. I found out later that Sharon didn't even use the bathroom in our room because she didn't want to wake me up and hoped I would get a good rest. That girl loves me!

more notes

I mentioned this earlier, but Sharon has continued to write me notes and stick them in my lunch or on the kitchen table for me to see when I wake up. My rotation right now is particularly frustrating and stressful, and these notes really help. Thank you! I am lucky.

Sharon's been making me sandwiches for lunch this week and putting little notes in my bag. Its been fun.

wonderful memories

Just watched about 15 old videos from when the kids were younger with Sharon. I had already forgotten completely about a lot of those experiences. I'm so glad we have pictures and especially videos to remember all the wonderful times we have together. Sharon's given me wonderful children and wonderful memories, that's for sure.

My romantic coupon book

Several years ago Sharon made me the most romantic coupon book. I never got a chance to use most of them, but luckily she didn't write an expiration date! One coupon was for her to watch a ball game with me, so I cashed it in tonight to watch the Arizona Gonzaga game. It's half time now and it's been fun to watch it with her.
